Carjack suspect caught on school grounds

This has been an interesting week in terms of safety

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Police rounded up two men -- one of them dead in a canal -- after a predawn carjacking attempt in Miami Gardens. It wasn't easy. The hunt, involving a Miami-Dade SWAT team, required the lockdown of a school, North Dade Middle, where one of the men had had fled.

The suspect was captured by the SWAT team on the school grounds about 7:30 a.m. He did not put up a struggle. North Dade Middle remained off limits after the capture as police officers walked the grounds to make sure a firearm had not been discarded there for a student to find.
