PTA Update

THANKSGIVING CERTIFICATES

PTA is currently collecting names of 10 needy families that would appreciate a $50.00 gift certificate for Thanksgiving. Please email Ms. Kerr the name of student/parent and their contact numbers by 3:30 pm today.

SCIENCE BOARDS

Science Boards are on sale for only $6.00 please encourage our students to purchase boards to support Parkway Elementary PTA.

MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

We currently have 39 members for PTA membership. Also please encourage students/parents to pay the PTA dues for only $6.00. Remember the classes with 100% membership the teacher will receive a $50.00 gift certificate. Ms. Kerr will put a reminder in the staff's mailboxes to pay PTA dues.

T-shirts will go on sale in January, more information is forthcoming.

Summer Money for Staffings

Teachers,
It is the time of the year to make sure you have teachers available for summer staffings. Each teacher will be paid hourly for the time that staffings take place. Each staffing must have a SPED teacher and a general education teacher (who is familiar with the child or familiar with the grade level curriculum and expectations) from the school present at the meeting.

If interested, please provide me with your home number, cell number and dates available by this Friday. I will confirm with you if your name was placed on the list.

Summer School Manual

Summer Demonstration Schools

For the second year, the district will implement the Demonstration School Project. Teachers interested in employment at a designated demonstration school site, may access the application online, at http://summerschool.dadeschools.net/ or http://www.utofd.com/, by March 21, 2007.

All applications must be returned to Summer Services, Mail Code: 9048, by Thursday, March 29, 2007. Teachers will be notified of the interview date, site, and time for their selected school.
Interviews will be held April 9 - 17, 2007, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at selected demonstration school sites.

Summer School

Summer school for our eligible students will be held at Hibiscus Elementary from June 26 to July 24. More information will be forthcoming.
